Mesquite Copal has been traded for traditional uses for centuries. Its fruity-sweet resin has the jaded appearance of the pear or cherry tree resin. Unlike those resins, however, this copal makes for an extremely pleasant incense. When burned, it conveys a strong intoxicating fragrance made up of sweet and earthy base notes, topped with bright notes of fruit and spice.
Prosopis alba is native to central South America, including the arid regions of Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile.
