Sweet Ogaden - High Grade Frankincense from Eastern Ethiopian
This batch of Boswellia rivae resin represents a fantastic example of what this species is capable of. It is a little like my honey-frankincense, though it lacks the same floral top notes. Instead, this resins boasts a malty, powdery centre on top of a sweet and rounded base. It burns very well, evaporating almost entirely, suggesting relatively a high essential oil content. This resin is very beautiful, with golds, reds, and amber colours throughout.
