Bursera microphylla is native to North America, including the arid regions of northwest Mexico, where this resin is from. Its resin is spicy, resinous, with deep woody, balsamic notes, reminiscent of salvia - the sort of scent you might from an apothecary's kitchen, filled with fragrant roots and spices.
